Great all around instrument mic
5 August 2014
Summary: This is a great mic. Lots of dynamic range. I'm using several of the mics, one on the kick drum, one for the lead amp. But I'm most impressed by the response of the one in using on the Leslie. This thing thumps!
Summary: About a year ago I bought three of these mics to mic the toms on my set. they are fantastic, a lot of gain before any feedback, as a matter of fact I don't believe there has ever been any feedback except once when we were playing at an outside venue, but our sound man quickly got rid of that. Since my purchase, I have bought another tom and am in need of another mic. I am going to buy another of these. They are just as good as some mics that cost $400. plus.
Summary: Great mic for the price. I use on rack and floor toms. As good in "real life" application as SM57. Can be clipped to drum- but that always affects a rack tom's sound. I use the clip on floor tom and it works great. Short of studio and stadium quality, they are a great buy for use in micing a drum set. I recommend the PG56.
Summary: Best bang for your buck. Good quality, sturdy. Can't go wrong with Shure Mics. There are better Mics out there but at a much higher price. low price of the Sure Misc and the quality make them a best buy.
Summary: this is great mic for the price, but if you are looking for a super high quality sound don't expect it from this mic, it wasn't designed for that. but i love this mic!, 1. its a sure and 2. its great for the road and live sound! you can never go wrong with a sure if you get the wright mic for the job.
