Excerpt: This is a great mic for saxophonists. I purchased it to replace the one that came with my original wireless system I bought in 2006 to tour with Anita Baker. I love it's sound and durability. I move a lot when I perform, and I had to replace it because the plastic housing broke after 8 years of me abusing it all over the country. Even thiough the clip broke, the mic kept on working.
Excerpt: I bought this clip on mic to use with my Tenor and Alto sax. I was originally using a beta 87 on a stand, so at first I was worried about considerable quality loss: not so! I even use it with the cheaper shure pgx wireless system and it sounds great! I am gonna have to buy another one soon to keep them ready on both saxes instead of switching....I should have bought this years ago.
Excerpt: This a quality product that sounds great. I don't have a Shure wireless system and was hoping the mini XLR(TA4F) connector would fit my Carvin wireless belt pack. It did and I'm delighted[...]Also, the price was one of the best on the web. The only slight problem I'm working with right now is that the mic won't clip onto the bell of my clarinet. The clip isn't wide enough and doesn't open wide enough. However, I'm delighted to have this mic.
Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Excerpt: I'm a sax player and this mic works great. The reproduction of clear sound quality is exactly what I need from a mic. The flexibility and mounting configurations make it a true joy to use. I would recommend it to my friends and buy another if needed.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Summary: I've used these mics forever on drums. They have great isolation and you won't find another mic that can mount easily to just about any rim out there as the Beta 98. The adjustable rim clamp is well thought out. It's a splendid system and saves you the mess and hassle of using three stands on the toms if you use three of these. The look is much cleaner as well. They are best for live.
Excerpt: Very pleased with this mic. Purchased to replace original SM98 mic for tenor sax on older Shure Wireless system. This one has a much better, sturdy and more manageable integrated clip and Sounds very natural. Only down side for horn players is that it still requires a belt pack, but sounds better than the Samson or AMT Airliner type systems.
Pros: Durable, Good detachable wndscreen, Good flex clip assembly, Lightweight
