Flyboy, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I like the mic itself, but the shock system falls off repeatedly. I mean never stays on. Cannot use this mic and now BH tells me there is no 3rd party shock system for it, making this $[$]plus mic unusable to me. Only bought it in July so I pretty much wasted my $.

Terrible shotgun mic (great omni mic)

Svetlana, B&H Photo
28 March 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought a used one and I thought I was going to get a reasonable deal, but no. • Excerpt: The plastic construction is meant to keep weight down, and it does. Unfortunately, the plastic battery door was extremely frustrating to operate. It took many minutes of maneuvering to get into place correctly.
  • Cons: Breakable plastic

Noisy

Brett, B&H Photo
21 August 2014
  • Excerpt: Only work for a few uses. They make a squeaky sound every time the mic moves. Better off taping the mic to the camera. It's useless with the bands.

Not what I expected

Bmann, B&H Photo
26 June 2014
  • Excerpt: Bought this with hopes to use as an on camera boom mic. Used it at a wedding and at a event where I interviewed a couple people. The wedding sounds were okay, but very far away and barely adequate. The interviews were horrible, sounding like in a barrel.
  • Pros: Lightweight, No batteries needed
  • Cons: Bad Sound

  • Excerpt: I bought the RODE videomic Lightweight at Adorama it was on sale for $79. I was very happy. Until I actually tried it. I used it on a Nikon D610. Adjusted the preferences on the camera to have a volume with peak at 8/10. Then I downloaded the videos on my Mac and what a poor audio I got.
