Great tool

  • Excerpt: I've used this on many productions and finally got one of my own. Great when in cramped space or on the move, especially when you have someone holding it who doesn't really know audio... easy point and "shoot".
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Quality Construction

Great shock Mount for NTG-3

TvPat, B&H Photo
9 September 2013
  • Excerpt: This shock mount holds my NTG-3 very snuggly and does a good job at minimizes the transfer of handling noise to the microphone. The adjustment lever really helps speed up the process of fine tuning the mic's angle. I like that the kit comes also with an optional size to fit other mics.

Easy to use

Rusty, B&H Photo
28 June 2013
  • Excerpt: Easy to get my NTG-1 mounted and rolling in the field. You will have to practice a few times getting the cable through the grip if your not going to permanently install one. Its quick, but quirky. I like not having one installed so I can use the cable length needed for the situation. Having a connection just outside the grip is asking for a noise source, so I prefer long cables in some situations. This mount suppresses noise, it does not eliminate it.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Quality Construction
  • Cons: Limited Noise Suppressio

Wish I had bought one two years ago.

  • Excerpt: The PG2 will be used to hold my AT897 shotgun microphone to help isolate any hand hold noise while doing bird song recording in the filed. Looks and feels good - tests so far have been good.

Don't Shoot

Boom Pole Larry, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Solid pistol grip and shock mount. Two problems; doesn't come with the mini XLR in the handle, and make you feel like you are damaging the mic when you slide it in and out.

Eliminate mic handling noise

Clean Sound, B&H Photo
28 January 2013
  • Excerpt: ENG location recordings must have great audio. Part of having great audio is no mic handling noise. The PG2 will hold your microphone quietly whether you're standing still or on the move. Great success using this pistol grip.

solid, well designed, easy to use grip

Chris, B&H Photo
23 December 2012
  • Excerpt: I use this grip with a Sennheiser ME66/K6 shotgun microphone. I had previously had a different shockmount with a screw-in type handle. This mount is much quieter and much easier to use in the field. It is solidly put together and very quiet when used properly. I like the cord tunneling system which runs your mic cord down through the handle to keep it out of the way. The locking lever which allows you to fold the handle up (or alter its angle) is very solid.
  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile

Another great RØDE product

  • Excerpt: Great product quality. The handle is fully adjustable and once adjusted, holds tight. The rubber is just right so it holds the microphone without being able to hear the handling noise. The 3/8 threads in the handle is perfect for using with a boompole.

  • Excerpt: Very nice and well built. The adjustable mount hold tight when locked. The fact that you can insert the cable inside the handle is also a nice feature. The 3/8 threads below the handle is rock solid too. Overall, very nice product, with great features and it's well built. RECOMMENDED.
