Great sound quality for the price!

  • Excerpt: I run this through a tascam recorder and straight to my camera from there. I was very impressed with the quality of the audio for a professional mic on the cheaper end. It's very directional, but that's how shotguns go!
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Durable, Lightweight

Excellent Shotgun Mic

  • Excerpt: This microphone provides excellent sound quality at a reasonable price. The fact that I received it in a bundle deal seems like a massive steal to me for such a reliable shotgun mic. The body has a strong build and has survived a fall or two without any consequences.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Easy To Use

The trusty NTG-2

  • Excerpt: Great shotgun in it's price range. Not the cleanest or lowest noise shotgun out there, but it blows on camera mics out of the water and has pretty decent directionality. I wouldn't go for any other mic in it's price range.
  • Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
  • Cons: Poor Sound Quality

Great sound, but some room for improvement.

  • Excerpt: I use this with my Sony PWX-FS7. It's a great mic for the most part and I'd recommend it but it has a few short comings. The only way to turn off the battery power is to unscrew the battery case and pull the batteries out. There is no power switch.
  • Pros: Durable

  • Excerpt: This product is great for production use in terms of short films, weddings, interviews and gets great audio if pointed in the right direction. If you're not use to audio equipment, make sure you learn before purchasing because this mic doesn't pic up ambient sounds as well unless pointed in that...

  • Excerpt: For the price, it's a fantastic bit of gear however I found that the sound was overall a little flat. I'm obviously comparing this to a NTG-3 which is by far a superiour product and definitely worth the extra cash if you're using it for corporate or professional gigs. Also when using the NTG-2 with a...
