Summary: The Rode NT3 microphone has been widely acknowledged as a high-value mic for the money by musicians, but not everyone knows it's a great choice for both aspiring and accomplished indie filmmakers. The price is very reasonable for those starting to build their kit (can be great when you buy them used), and the cardioid pickup pattern is a much better choice for indoor shooting than even an expensive shotgun, as they won't leave you with the hollow and echoed sound...
Summary: This is my first mic for my home recording studio. I am just starting out while trying to keep the cost down. After recording a few tracks of acoustic guitar and vocals I could not believe my ears. This mic is unbelievable!
Pros: Durable, Great Sound Quality, Lightweight, Simple Use
Summary: This is possible the best live mic I have ever used . At any one time we are using 6 of these little gems, from drum overheads to Lead vocals. They have a warm and clear sound, very transparent. You won't need a valve pre amp with this mike. The singer will not put his down. Do a side by side comparison with your favorite mic.
Summary: I field tested this live, along with my standard audio Technica Pro 4, and a new Neumann KMS-105... I love the Rode. The Neumann was no better than the Pro 4. Needs bass roll off though, but great for the price. (I would have easily paid more.
