Simple, Clear and Multi-Functional

manofmanyhairs0, Ebay

  • Summary: It is a superb mic for male rap vocals and acoustic guitar. I'm an independent musician who is fairly simplistic and uses mostly acoustic instruments. This mic is dynamic, crisp and clear. If I had the money I would buy another and use it for stereo recording. The low cut and db cut switches are great for deep vocals or guitar. I have yet to use it in omni or figure eight patter but I'm choral director for a group at school so I'll be testing that out use fairly soon.

More than your money's worth

  • Summary: For the record, I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to microphones. I am always trying to find the best mic for the job. Granted, this does not mean that the best mic for the task at hand is always the most EXPENSIVE mic. This brings me to the NT2-A. It is an incredibly warm and surprisingly natural sounding mic. It does not overly boost the presence like some mics, nor does it try to lie to you. It is a very accurate, rich, and balanced microphone.

Superb Microphone

scottgp257, Ebay
18 March 2011
  • Summary: This is a very high quality microphone that can be used to record any instrument. It is extremely versatile with the ability to filter out frquencies below 80Hz or 40Hz with a low-cut filter. It also has a choice of 5dB or 10dB pads for use when recording very loud sound sources. It has 3 recording patterns: figure-of-eight, cardioid and omni. So you get 3 microphones for the price of 1.

Great mic at any price

  • Summary: So I had been using a colleagues U87 for some singer sessions, voiceovers and the like. I really loved the sound but as I got busier, I needed to have something in studio. Another producer friend of mine advised me to go with the Rode as he pointed out, with a lot of the production tools available nowadays, you can get a great sound without taking out a second mortgage. This mic did not disappoint!
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Versatile
