  • Excerpt: Rode's original NT1 was released around 16 years ago, followed by the NT1A a few years later. Now the company has gone back to the old name with a just-released new NT1 model that looks very similar to the NT1A but has actually been completely redesigned from the ground up, the only component in common with the NT1A being the mesh grille.

I appreciate the excellent and faithful reproduction it produces...It records like a dream and, if placed properly can capture exactly what you want...It's well built but I wouldn't recommend tossing it down a flight of stairs... This mic is excellent for home studios and more than capable of handling its' own in comm... [ read more on Audiofanzine ] Overall, the mic is very affordable and it?s a must have for you.

  • Excerpt: The Rode NT1-A is another entry into the ever-growing field of affordable large-diaphragm condenser mics. It lists for $349, but I found $199 to be the common street price on the internet [Editor's note - scroll down to see all current online sale prices for the NT1-A]. Like others in this price range, it is a good, useful, no-frills mic. It is cardioid-only and has neither a pad nor a roll-off switch.

" the sound of silence!" - Sonar Bear

Audiofanzine
23 March 2013
  • Excerpt: acquired two years ago, it has not been used, but it is a treat to use! I have no basis for comparison, this is my first real microphone, but what appealed to me about the paper is that it is the quietest in the world ... I try to fight against the operating noise of the equipment and instruments on my track, and I served there. It is very sensi...

  • Excerpt: This is my first studio mic and I really APRIS with to start is the top and he does many things well. Even now I sometimes use it on multiple sounds that do not require too much detail. Well I do not know the differences with the previous models, so I do not mean that I do not know. But mine is 12 years old and was sold without suspensio...

"Works like a charm" - sw80

15 December 2012
  • Excerpt: The NT1-A has a wide dynamic range and a cardioids directional pattern. It does require phantom power and at the time I was using an M-Box with phantom power so I didn’t have any issues. It has really low noise and gave me just the type of recordings I was trying to get when using Cubase. I also use Waves plug-ins on my vocals so that just adde...

"RODE NT1A = Wonderful" - mitchgeist

Audiofanzine
13 November 2012
  • Excerpt: The mic is a great value. Other mics that come close to it, like AKG or M-Audio are at least double the price. If you can afford it, this is a great bargain. This is great looking mic, and works great. Like I said above, this takes the home studio one step closer to being a pro-studio. After all, this is a pro mic.

" A classic home studio" - barry

Audiofanzine
9 November 2012
  • Excerpt: I use it for a little over a year. Compared to B2, the sound is better but the advantage of B2 is changeable directivity and low-cut filter integrated, which can be useful eventually. Least, this is the method of fixing is not always practical. But we made it! I had occas by a friend, so he sold it to me almost new and not very e...

  • Excerpt: How long have you been using? I do not use much anymore, but I've had more than 10 years. Did you try many other models before buying it? I mostly try after solid models. What is so special that you like most and least? The value for money is a micro solid for the price doing a very good job on the song or it is tak...
