Excerpt: Solid microphone where the audio is very nice, though not amazing. Functions we'll as boom mic or other similar application, since the range isn't extremely far. The built in power is helpful as is the option to switch between cardiod and super-cardiod settings, though on super if gain is set too...
Excerpt: It was a good buy for the price. We use the mic to pick up stage skits, violin and tabla. It works good from a pickup. It does not cover the full range of frequencies. Probably it some EQ tweaks will fix that. The only negative is that it did not come with a mic holder for the stand.
Excerpt: For the[$] I paid for this I wasn't expecting really great build quality nor great sound. I got both!I've paid much more for microphones that didn't sound this good. Nicely finished, professional XLR connection, and great sound. My only complaint, and it's minor, was the case was a little flimsy.
Excerpt: I bought this mic as an impulse. I thought that I could use it to improve video sound quality. So far it has been an improvement over on board mics with a little bit more precision when it comes to capturing sound.
Excerpt: We use this as a backup to our Rode shotgun and the sound is resonably close, only a small amount of EQ is needed to match. Very light mike so I don't know how it will hold up in the ling run. Very sensitive.
Excerpt: I'm giving this mic 2 stars because it did pick up sound better than the in-camera mic (but what doesn't?). Pre-amped by an iRig Pre, the sound level could be brought up to a reasonably high level without excessive noise floor.
Excerpt: For such a low price, I am impressed with how well this mic captures sound from a distance (in supercardioid mode). The audio quality isn't that great, but you can fix/improve it in post. I think this one sounds better than the Audio-Technica ATR6550, and it's almost half the price.
