  • Summary: I gave this mic 5 stars because, for the price, it does what it claims very well. My computer recognized it immediately. I had to adjust the recording settings and conduct tests to get it right, but that would always be true.

Genius Mic-01A

Kashan K., Newegg
6 January 2015
  • Summary: I feel as though I've wasted money on this product. Can anyone help me with it, in case I'm missing something? I want to be able to put it at least a foot away from my voice.
  • Pros: Omni-directional
  • Cons: Does not pick my voice unless im holding it to my mouth, and the voice quality is barely intelligible. I've tried configuring it and nothing works.

  • Summary: This microphone works fine. Use it for Skype Calls. Sound is clear. You have to be within about two inches of the mic to be heard. Overall I am happy with my purchase and at a great price too.

Save yourself the hassle...

Jason M., Newegg
17 March 2014
  • Summary: You get what you pay for. I made the mistake when I figured I would get a cheaply built product that worked somewhat decently and would last at least a couple months before it just died. Too bad I only had it for 2 days before I RMA'd it for product dissatisfaction.
  • Pros: It's black and came with an adjustable stand.
  • Cons: Being a desktop microphone, one would assume that you would be able to place it within about a foot or two of the user, point it towards the sound of their voice and it should work just fine. But the unfortunate truth is that the mic worked but only if it was in your mouth. No, that's not a joke ...
