Excerpt: I needed a wireless mic solution within a small budget. This system has been great for my need and I look forward to using and testing the full aspect for my videography. I agree that the receiver is large especially for weddings and clipping on the bride/groom but other than that this is a great addition to capturing great sound.
Excerpt: I use this for documentaries and Family Gatherings.Excellent sound quality.Mic is large; don't confuse it with a lapel mic. Use Lithium batteries if you're going to be recording for an extended period. As with all Canon products, nothing they sell is cheap.
Summary: The microphone worked very well. I put batteries in, plugged the transmitter into my Canon HF R52 camcorder, turned both units on, and voila! It worked like a charm. I used the mic to take 51 minutes of AVCHD video. The mic never skipped a beat and has better audio quality than the built-in mic. One review reported short battery life, so I made sure I used new AA cells especially for powering digital devices - and I inserted new batteries just before the taping session.
Summary: Really good sound. My voice is very quiet. I needed to make an instructional video and could not keep speaking loud enough without straining. This helped me speak at a normal level and it was very clear.
Excerpt: I bought this microphone to use at weddings to mic the groom. However, when I opened the package, I saw that the microphone was very big and would be very conspicuous on the groom and would show up in pictures. When I tested the mic, it was very clear, however, when the person wearing the mic turned around and had his back to the receiver, it completely cut out. Basically, the mic always has to face the receiver.
