Excerpt: Perfect for outdoor music concerts with a solid sound system. Great for picking up natural sounds at close range, (wind in trees and a small stream/waterfall). Does not pick up voices/conversations well when more than 4-5 feet away. My difficulty with this piece of equipment is that you have no idea how long the battery will last, there was no indicator for me whether or not the equipment was working - had to wait to see it in production (why I though unreliable).
Excerpt: I'm happy enough with the quality from this microphone. It works and it sounds more professional than the on camera mic. The battery seems like it will last a long time and the cord is easy enough to keep out of the way. (I wrap it around the front of the shoe mount to keep it off my screen). I would only use this as a replacement for the on board mic for quick audio. To get better results, get the mic closer to your speaker/talent.
Excerpt: Haven't owned the mic long enough to fully review. Bought this mic to use on a DSLR for video/audio capture. Microphone works well, good stereo seperation. Helps to focus audio capture to subject up to 5 feet away. Much better than built in mic on camera.
Excerpt: This little microphone packs a big punch. I'm coming from a mono shotgun mic and I needed stereo sound and this little microphone does the job. Great pick up great price and great sound quality easy-to-use. I would highly recommend it if your looking for a quality stereo mic in this price point. B&H always delivers the best quality service and ease of ordering.
Excerpt: Used mainly for outdoor shooting on a job site. Captures much of the surroundings, decent for quick voice bites. Does have a buzzing sound, but can be tweaked slightly in post production. A good option for getting started.
Excerpt: This on-camera shotgun mic is ideal for non-professionals that simply want better sound on their camcorders and the low budget professionals just starting out. Decent quality sound for the price.
Excerpt: I used it with my digital camera to record about 90 minutes of video at a noisy fish fry and outdoor car show, and it did a much better job than the built-in camera mike would have done. It will be a permanent item in my camera bag. Only complaint: There should be an LED to remind you that it's on, so you don't accidentally leave it on and run the batteries down. Also, it should come with a plug adapter for equipment that has micro-sized inserts.
