The Microphone worked pretty well

Ludy, B&H Photo
  • Excerpt: I purchased this microphone in order to record sound for a short film I was making. The microphone worked very well, I had it connected to an audio recorder, and all of the audio sounded pretty good. If there were any short comings they were probably more rooted in my lack of experience with recording audio. The telescoping feature appeared to work very well and would probably have been a better option for many of the shots that I maintained the microphone on normal for.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Long Lasting

Will not buy again.

  • Summary: I tried using the mic with my Canon Rebel T2i. It worked well with my test run. When it was time for me to use it the next day it had stopped working. I've tried adding a new battery and still no luck. Needless to say that this product was a waist of money. Product stopped working after a few days.

  • Excerpt: This mic is ok, but not much better than the built in mic on my Vixia. In my experience it generated significant amount of static noise. it is ok for general outdoor use, but not for interviews.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Noisy

  • Excerpt: I bought my Canon Rebel a couple of months ago and have been looking for the right mic ever since. I saw this one reviewed on @ but some people were saying that the sound improvement wasn't that great compared to the on-board mic. Well, I can attest that this microphone is THE ONE! It absolutely improves your sound 100%, comes with a battery and a mic clip.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality, Lightweight, Long Lasting

Not the best mic

Tiffany, B&H Photo
11 June 2014
  • Excerpt: Easy set up, light weight but the tele mic option gives a squelchy feed back. Also it doesn't do well with wind noise cancelation.

Watch for grounding!

ER, B&H Photo
19 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I decided to give this microphone a try as my recording area is next to a noisy warehouse. It certainly seems to be doing a good job keeping all the background noise out, however, had an issue that drove me a little crazy. When I plugged the mic directly into my Sony Vixia camera, I got a lot of humming. Seems the better the cable, the louder the humming got. When using a cheap 3.5mm audio cable, the humming was very faint.

26 February 2014
  • Summary: Imagine during filming and your microphone is broken and you don't have extra. That's what happen to me. I accidentally step on the microphone and I don't have a back up. Still works but the sounds has a lot of static. It just ruin my day. It's a learning curb for me. I purchase this is as a good back up for shooting short film.

Works great...don't hesitate!

  • Summary: The microphone works just fine for a test that i did. Naturally, I had to figure out how to unscrew the sections to insert the battery, but I will chock that up to being a 'noob' to the camera mic world. Get this mic, because it is worth it.

Works for Live Improv

PDCImprov, B&H Photo
18 February 2014
  • Excerpt: We use these mics for our live improv shows at different bars and restaurants around town in Tampa for audiences of 300 to audiences of 3. A bit tinny when you push em, but otherwise they balance just fine with a small mixer. More powerful then you would assume. Only draw back is the necessity of a mono adapter to XLR, but you can find those on B&H. I bought 4 a year ago, one pooped out on me, so I bought 3 more. Now I can mic anything - from podcasts to live shows.
