Summary: Disappointed. My Sony recorder picked up sounds better without this microphone plugged in. Battery compartment very cheaply designed. Don't waste your time. Anyone who gives this more than 1 star either received a different product or has very low expectations. What I received is just below junk.
Summary: I purchased this microphone the other day for college. With the College Equivalent of an IEP (Accommodations), I am able to do things such as record my lectures and review them. Finding a stand alone microphone was hard. I did NOT want to bring a webcam to class if i was just going to use a Mic.
Excerpt: I bought this to record therapy sessions with clients. Not only does it cut out when replaying a recorded session, the construction is so poor that the battery cover will not stay attached and the battery keeps falling out.
Summary: I have used a number of these microphones since the model was introduced. They have always provided reliable and very intelligible audio for recording meetings on both consumer camcorders and business audio recorders. I have also used this mic connected to wireless beltpack transmitters.
Excerpt: Purchased this for use with an Olympus DM-620 Voice Recorder. Could not get it working even after trouble shooting, checking the battery, switch etc. Staples credited my account and ordered a replacement unit that works very well.
You Didn't Really Want To Record Anything, Did You?

Summary: There is no volume control on the microphone, so I turned the input volume on my computer all the way up, and maxed the input sensitivity on my software. All I recorded was a mumbling whisper when I was speaking at normal volume 18 inches away from the microphone (which had a fresh battery).
Summary: I bought this mic online and received it about 2 weeks ago. It is just a simple plug and play but there are some adjustments you will have to make to your computer. You will have to boost things up from the control panel and just really play around with it till you get it set.
