Excerpt: I've used this product on a few film projects so far. The audio is clear enough for good sound, and it can record loud (not rock concert loud) events fairly well. My two concerns here (taking price into consideration) is that the audio is captured from all around instead of infront of the boom, but one can't gripe too much about this taking the price into consideration.
Excerpt: I have not been able to find my long shotgun mic and I needed something for my new Sony FS7. I needed to find something I could trust for a good price. Somebody on dvxuser mentioned the AT875. The test I saw indicated the side and rear rejection wasn't great. The first thing I shot with it was an outdoor event with a busy street that was at times behind me and at times to the side. The AT875 did very well especially considering the low price.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Good sound quality, Lightweight
Excerpt: I used this mic making my Survival Tips videos, and we were pretty rough with it. We used it outdoors in damp conditions and it saw a lot of physical activity, and recently it just quit working. Fortunately I had the Squaretrade warranty, which was fairly easy to claim -- they sent a shipping label and offered me a choice of payouts. I give it less than five stars because of the mildly "muffled" sound it records.
Excerpt: This mic has been highly recommended by those Voice Over guys that want to try a shotgun microphone and dont have the money to spend on a $ German shotgun mic. I originally asked in a group what the thoughts were on it, only to get immediate responses from over 20 members saying "I got one, get it, you'll love it". They were right!. Its a simple, clean mic, very clean sounding and with the right preamp? it sounds very decent.
Pros: Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality, Lightweight
