Excerpt: I had been using a Shure SM58, but with a mic flag, the handle was not long enough. The handle on this is perfect for ENG-type interviews, with a mic flag (and a Sennheiser wireless module attached). I looked at Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, Electrovoice ENG mics - and a few others. I've always had good experience with Audio Technica gear - this keeps that steak going.
Excerpt: Good mic for the price. I used this and the Sennheiser MD-42. I can definitely hear the difference in quality between the AT and the Sennheiser (with the Sennheiser being substantially better). At more than half the price though, this mic will produce great audio for interviews and ENG style shooting on a budget.
Excerpt: After own it for about 1 year now.I still feel this is the one of the best purchase. It just add so much value to your video production.I can use XLR to 3.5mm cable feed the sounds directly to DSLR. Since the mouth of the person talking is very close to the mic. That means noise to signal is pretty good. We can still get very high quality sounds directly from DSLR. Very useful mic for DSLR Eng type video.it only cost [$] bucks. what you get is huge.
