Excellent Mic

curtisclogston, Ebay
26 October 2015
  • Summary: Can't go wrong with a 4050. The extras in the bundle make this item a good deal, but I wouldn't recommend putting this fine microphone on the cheap stand included. Use it for your rusty '57 applications. The rest of the kit is great.

Love my AT 4050!

cjr.guitar, Ebay
10 March 2014
  • Summary: This mic has been a welcome addition to my locker. It delivers transparent and quiet recordings and the most useful patterns at a very reasonable price. My only complaint would be that the shock mount design makes it difficult to mount the mic, which has to be pulled though a tight rubber band,...

One of the best vocal mics in this price range

JimboSpins, Audiofanzine
22 January 2013
  • Excerpt: The AT4050 is a large diaphragm condenser that gives you the ability to change your polar patterns on the fly. So no matter where we were recording at we could easily adjust the polar patterns to give us the best possible quality.

super - value

  • Excerpt: Mambrane capacitor wide, variable directivity. OVERALL OPINION 5 Years, I have a lot of microphones. It's close enough to AKG C 414, a bit less bright, which is not bad, and much cheaper. it is a very versatile mic. great sound, beautiful finish. We could do a whole album with that.

Not just for vocals

James..., Audiofanzine
19 August 2011
  • Excerpt: This is one of AKG's best large condenser mics. The price definitely reflects that also. You usually only find these in higher end studios but they pop up sometimes when big bands are on tour. In general the application is meant for studio vocals but in my opinion it can do a lot more.

  • Excerpt: See site audio technica, versatile use OVERALL OPINION I love this mic I own for 4 years, I do not use it all the time, but it does very well on a lot of sources, including small drums that often come with a little hard enough static out with this silky micro.
