Behringer XM8500

MusicGearReview.com
  • Excerpt: I purchased two of these mics at a local music store here in Canada for $34 each (Can). These mics for the price are amazing - believe it or not, they come with a carrying case as well! The sound is comparible to a Shure SM58, (I've owned a few) but you can buy three or four of these for the same amount of money! (I don't know how they do it).

Shure Beta 87A

MusicGearReview.com
  • Excerpt: I bought this mic at Guitar Center for $185. This is significantly less than they were selling it for ($250), but they were willing to match the price that I had found. Which was a really good deal... I decided on the Beta 87A after very extensive research - a lot of internet time sending e-mails, doing searches, reading up; a lot of phone time speaking to pro's, calling for prices, and comparing. And the Beta 87A seemed to stand above all the others.

Beyerdynamic M 160

MusicGearReview.com
  • Excerpt: The Beyerdynamic M 160 is a small diaphragm hypercardiod ribbon mic with TWO ribbon transducers. It looks a little bit like a childs toy but don't get it confused! I am a student, musician, writer, and pretty good line dancer residing in beautiful Nashville, TN. I've been a drummer and guitar player on and off for the past 10 years of my life and have began engineering and producing in the past 4.
