Summary: This Yamaha R-S700BL is a pretty good value for the money. It has a nice natural sound and all functions work as described. I have been reasonably satisfied with it. It would be a 5 star if not for the plastic controls and knobs. They are very cheap looking and were not expected.

Summary: Decided to break out my vinyl again and I needed a good basic receiver for my turntable. I've always liked Yamaha audio products and this receiver is perfect for my purposes. Nice clean sound. No USB but that's not what I bought it for.
but for the price this receiver is great for what it is intended

Summary: First off I want to make clear that I'm writing a review for the R-S201. It seems there are a lot of reviews of different models, or different variations of this model in the review column. This is a basic bare bones receiver with limited outputs, I knew that when I bought it.
Summary: My background: I've had exposure to ~$3,000 stereo set ups when working at Circuit City in 1999-2003. C.C. had an Onkyo receiver that weighed 48 lbs paired with powered infinity towers and a massive sub. The power and clarity was incredible, but the price was deal breaker for most people.
