Excerpt: I have several Yamaha products and that's why I bought the A-S500 and it does just what I wanted it too. I also like the way that B&H handles my orders.(very professional)and I will always buy from them.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Warm sound with good power that can drive most speakers with ease. Has a sound you can enjoy for hours and sounds as good or better as similar priced Cambridege Audio, Marantz and NAD integrated amps I own at a lower price as discounted on Amazon. Minor downside is attached power cord. Partners well with Marantz CD player and my Salk Ellis speakers.
Summary: I am a long time "audiophile" and have owned exotic tube equipment as well as various high end components. This time around I was looking to upgrade my analog system within a budget. After hearing this amp at a friends house I was blown away by the detail and overall presentation and power this amp provides.
Summary: This product is great. The sub out is a very nice feature. All in All the best stereo/amp I have owned. The highs and minds are clear and detailed without being to hi or shrill. The bass is not nearly as strong as some of the other stereos I have had in the past but it doesn't need to be if you have a sub connected up. But what the bass lacks in punch it more than makes up for with clarity and detail that I was missing in past setups. Great product.
upgrading from listening to music using my home theater set up
23 January 2014
Summary: I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I have these hooked up to a pair of Yamaha bookshelf speakers (NS-BP400PN) and I've never had so much fun listening to music. Tight, punchy bass, very clear highs, and a large sound stage. With my set-up, it's plenty loud-- I've never gone past about 30% volume for fear of bothering my neighbors. I read negative reviews comparing it to vintage amps; I'd defer to more experienced listeners in that case.
Summary: Price considered this is a fantastic amp. I bought it to power my golden ear aon2's and it does a good job. If you are trying to build a budget stereo system built around sound quality then definitely give this product a look.
Excerpt: Great replacement on my old school component system. Only using to pump out music and this integrated amp does just that. Sound is clear and can rock the speakers. Replaced and old JVC with built in equalizer... no worries with this new one.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Great amp, sounds way better than I thought it would. I have had the rs300 for about a month and never fell in love. I just hooked up the as500 and the massive upgrade is instantly apparent. I'm listening to Steven Wilson's latest effort. All I can say is this amp is a real treat for my ears. I'm a drummer so I have to take care of my ears and I'm picky about sound. With that said, I have far less ear fatigue with the as500 compared to the rs300.
