Summary: This is an excellent receiver for this price point. I needed it to connect my turntable and it works great. Please note that if you have a MM (Moving Magnet) turntable you cannot connect directly to this receiver and will have to purchase a preamp and RCA cables to connect or be sure to have a...

Summary: I purchased this receiver in August 2010 and paired it with Sony SS-B3000 Bookshelf Speakers. The combo sounded great. The sherwood provided plenty of power to the speakers and I was pleased with the performance of both products.
Summary: It's been so long since I heard beautifully played, beautifully recorded, and beautifully reproduced the music of J.S. Bach. This true-bargain receiver delivers. For anyone wanting a "modern" receiver with HDMI inputs or the ability to connect to a plethora of electrical sources, this is not for...
Summary: I purchased the Sherwood RX-4109 to replace an older Sherwood receiver that I purchased in the 1980s for use with our television in our family room The old unit recently started making very loud crackling noise through the 1970s era full range speakers (refurbished four years ago) occasionally.
Steal of a Deal - Quality Receiver and Power Amp All Around

Summary: I absolutely love this receiver. I had an older model that looked the same, but the digital tuner gave out after a lot of moving around over the course of I suppose 7-10 years (?). I was going to settle for a boombox for my office/study, but no one knows how to make them anymore.
Summary: I use it to power two 6.5" Klipsch speakers for TV viewing. It does this sufficiently. Avoid if you want lots of volume.
Pros: Plays music through speakers. Cheap.
Cons: Got hot and shut off after about 30 minutes of loud heavy metal. I never noticed any degradation in sound quality, it just turned itself off. Turned it back on at the same volume and it went right back off after a minute or two. Maybe a fan would solve this..... Doesn't sound as good as the Onkyo...
Excerpt: I had already purchased a Sherwood carousel CD player to replace an ancient (but still operational) Kenwood carousel player. I am somewhat impressed with the CD player so I thought I'd get a Sherwood receiver in hopes that the remote would work for the CD player.
Summary: If you want something inexpensive, solidly built, and decidedly mid-fi, here's your receiver. Still going strong after 3 years. Not audiophile quality sound, but clear enough. Hook it up to some forgiving speakers (like Sony SS-B1000) and you've got a nice setup.

Summary: I bought an older model in 2010, the RX-4105. It was so good that I wanted to review this one so these guys stay around. It has plenty of clean punch and power. I listen to it all day 5 days a week. No signs of deterioration - it's still like new.
