  • Summary: This clearly isn\'t a $999 amp, or even a $500-600 amp. But for a while now, you can find these ferurbished (full warranty) for under $400, and at that price it\'s a steal. Compared to some other combos I looked at, it\'s more compact, louder, higher wattage, and capable of making a much larger range of sound. that\'s mostly due to the amp settings (solid state, tube, tube overdrive)....
  • Pros: price, size, volume, flexibility
  • Cons: expandability, compression

  • Summary: Overview: I bought my DB500 about 4 years ago at a convention (TMEA, Texas Music Educators Association) and I\'ve been extremely happy with it every since. After I had this thing a while, I ended up selling my Mesa-Boogie rig and my Ampeg rig. This little amp doesn\'t have the booty of those rigs, but in any small/medium large venue, it put out plenty of sound for me...and it\'s a really rich, tonal bass sound.
  • Pros: Big Sound/Small Package, Digital, Onboard effects, programmable memory
  • Cons: Kind of expensive (MSRP approx. $999), Limited Speaker Combos, some white noise
