Summary: Bought this to run three sets of inwall speakers and a pair of outdoor speakers on the porch. I paired it with a Pyramid PR2500/SEA2500 Preamp to connect up all of my components. Previously had the speakers jury rigged up to an old 5.1 A/V Receiver that finally gave up the ghost It's been running for about a month and has great sound, much better than the last setup. Haven't experienced any humming or static like some of the other reviews.
Summary: After reading the negative reviews I still wanted to buy this as it fit the budget and had the options I wanted. I opened the box today to make sure it worked. Set everything up and turned it on, the speakers made a pop even with the volume all the way down not a great thing but not an issue as other reviewers have said. Selected my song to listen to and a nice clean sound came out of the speakers.

Heavy Amp! Specs are heavier than they trully are. But still a decent amplifier.

Summary: Like most all other audio equipment, advertised ratings are in PEAK power. Don't ever expect to get a clean 1000W/channel from this amp. Having said that, I benched tested this amp using lab equipment. It DOES do a very clean 175W@8 ohms/channel. It does produce 325W/channel@4 ohms cleanly. However, using a curve and factoring in distortion of about 10%, those numbers look a little more like the ratings.
Excerpt: The Pyle PTA2 Mini 2X40W Stereo Power Amp is the perfect amp for the stereo minimalist. This amp, a good turntable and nice speakers will provide the perfect retro vinyl album experience. Try it and enjoy, it's 1969 again!
