Summary: This is by no means a professional amp, but it does what I need it to do. I have two outdoor speakers hooked up to this to run the satellite radio in the yard. It gets plenty loud and I don't hear any distortion. Longevity maybe an issue with the plastic front and flimsy knobs, but for $90, I'm pretty happy. A bit of an annoying quirk, it doesn't remember your last used input. It always resets to the 'Tape' input.
Summary: Wanted to gift this to a friend to drive two sets of speakers in two different rooms in their house. The "display" on the front really doesn't do much. There's a overly noticeable hum when no inputs are plugged in. I ended up snapping one of the RCA connectors on the back by simply plugging in a cable. With all that being said, the whole thing is worth about $80, which is what I paid for.
Summary: I should have heeded the reviews. I bought this amp to use as a studio monitor for my guitar work station. I have a mic on my amp and a line out from my laptop that are each run to a mixer so I can learn pieces of music and rehearse along with the track. The PT1100 takes the mixed-down signal and sends it to my Bose monitors that are sitting right in front of me. I don't run at high volume, which is good because this amp has no headroom at all.
Summary: I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS EXACT MODEL, INSTEAD I RECEIVED A PT1000 SO MY REVIEW WILL REFLECT THAT MODEL! When I received this package I was thrilled at first. I did not pay close attention to the connections however, so i did have to buy a pair of adapters to get this unit to function they way I wanted it to. It has excellent connections for any professional setup and puts out some very nice sound.
Summary: my home stereo would not push my custom built speaker this cheap amp drives it well and actually gave it bass like i wanted. i had no hissing or humming as several people noted Works great no problems only fault i can put on it is there is no volume read out so you never know at what level you have it when adjusting. Secondly the unit is terribly ugly with the silver look of the power readout when powered off but powered on it looks like standard hi-fi equipment.
Excerpt: bought this amp to power my MTX Thunderpro 1200's. the amp has works great, good sound quality and power,on idle there is a little bit of hiss from the amp,it uses a fan for cooling which adds more noise to the signal, and the knobs feel cheap, but for the money it does what I want and does it well.
