Not bad, but not great

Nelson, Amazon
13 May 2015
  • Summary: Well, it certainly takes the phono signal and ups it to a usable line-level, however it has a noticeable buzz/hum. (Yes, my ground from my turntable is connected to the ground terminal on the preamp) The construction is good, quite solid and the guts inside look decently made, no bad solder joints,...

Solid little unit

B. Batchelor, Amazon
16 March 2015
  • Summary: This is a well-made unit for an essential purpose when you have several cartons of vinyl and a newer receiver. Some reviewers have said that this unit outputs better sound than the USB turntables.

All the basics needed by most people.

Robert A. Porter "Bob", Amazon
16 February 2015
  • Summary: Works fine for my needs, which is running a basic turntable through an analogue compact stereo system so that we can play our old collection of vinyl. Nice sturdy metal case, basic inputs and outputs. Decent price. Good delivery.

Makes a seriously bad HUMMING sound - avoid this unit!

Mike, Amazon
7 February 2015
  • Summary: This unit has one HUGE flaw, and based on the reviews, I'm not the only one who has experienced it. There is a VERY loud humming sound that comes and goes, seemingly randomly. I've noticed that if I hold the unit a certain way, or give it a good smack, the humming subsides, but it randomly creeps up...

Serves Purpose

Joedynamit, Amazon
5 February 2015
  • Summary: Does everything I need, probably not getting the range of the top line phono pre amps, but I'm no audiophile! I'm listening to my old Flamenco records happily. Compact and useful.

Adam Hornung, Amazon
19 January 2015
  • Summary: This product was defective and did not work longer than a couple days. The green light no longer comes on after a couple uses and there is significant noise coming through the speakers - both indications that it is defective. Do not purchase!

Seems to be working, but I am having a ...

Alfred Jadischke, Amazon
10 January 2015
  • Summary: Seems to be working, but I am having a noise issue, but this may be caused by my cables from the turn table. The noise comes and goes when I move the cables. Also somewhat quiet, but does the trick.

Very dull sound

Francois Monette, Amazon
7 January 2015
  • Summary: I was looking forward to using this preamp after reading the glowing reviews. I was very disappointed. The sound is not bad per se, it is just very dull, the dynamics are lost. I bought this to replace a 25 year-old Realistic preamp (42-2109) who is playing too hot for my digital capture gear.

perfect for simple vinyl systems!

John Storey, Amazon
18 November 2014
  • Summary: A little quiet but does the job perfect! Great output/input selection, perfect for a simple vinyl system to get those beettles LPs back on the pallatter! (I used turntable to preamp(this one) to guitar amp/amplified speaker for my system)
