GREAT PRODUCT-B&H PICKS GOOD STUFF

Nick in NYC, B&H Photo
23 June 2014
  • Excerpt: The TX-8050 shows itself as a quality product right out of the box. It has a great look. And more imortantly than just being pretty, is that, it provides great sound! It is intutive and feels solid. It can take 2 optical cables; this is the prefered way to connect a CD player. However, the optical cable does not work with zone 2.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Good Remote, Has 2 Zones, Intuitive Controls, Onkyo Has Usa Tech Help, Takes 2 Optical Cables, Tech Help Is 24 Hours, Tech Help Is Friendly

Great bargain

Rick P., Newegg
19 June 2014
  • Summary: I am very happy with this product.
  • Pros: Very easy set-up, great sound with my JBL outdoor speakers. I am probably under-tasking this device as I am only using it to play itunes/ipod and internet radio on two speakers, and it can certainly do much more. I am very pleased with how quickly I was able to pull up my Pandora stations, and using the USB port for ipod was very simple.
  • Cons: The interface via the remote can be a bit tedious and cumbersome. It would be great if there were a way to program the receiver with favorites and such once it was on your network with some software.

Great Receiver at a Good Price

Anne, B&H Photo
13 May 2014
  • Excerpt: This receiver was recommended by my "geek" friend who knew what I needed for my new HD TV and other components. I also wanted the A/B speaker option so I can hear music and TV when on my screened porch and this fit the bill. I am very happy with it!
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls

Performs Per Specs

The Reaper, B&H Photo
2 April 2014
  • Excerpt: For a lower priced receiver this receiver performs as advertised. While lacking an equalizer, the treble/bass controls provide a bit of boost toward the top and bottom of the audible frequencies. The sound is crisp and not muddy. The A-B speaker configuration allow two speakers to be placed in the front and two speakers in the rear resulting is a more "surround sound" feeling.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Good Remote
  • Cons: Hard To See Controls

  • Summary: Good sound reproduction, ease of use, perfect for someone who wants to be more contemporary without breaking the budget
  • Pros: Multiple features, Internet connectivity, good sound reproduction, nice design
  • Cons: Features easier to deal with from the remote is sometimes a bit inconvenient (I.e., where is it again?). Not a big deal.

Best 2 Channel Reciever

SatTech2, Amazon
5 March 2014
  • Summary: Excellent FM reception pull in a lot of stations. This receiver has plenty of good power. Very disappointed with another brand I bought because it sounded cheap and needed an external FM antenna. I learned my lesson. Love this receiver for old school setup!

  • Summary: I was looking for a basic stereo receiver I could use for my music. This one has all the power and capabilities I need without all the bells and whistles of a surround sound system.
