Summary: Convenience factor with different options: great Bluetooth connectivity: good DAC incorporated: great Sound: GREAT Size, look, and feel: great Power: just loud enough for me using axiom bookshelves. Price: expensive but worth the sound quality and features. Nothing else out there like it yet, and I have checked.. I have used primarily bluetooth and aux so far. I use this for bedroom and/or kitchen when I need.
There is a great improvement in sound stage and imaging
3 weeks ago
Summary: No complaints re sound. I was using Denon 2312CI earlier and this is my first 2 channel Amp for music. There is a great improvement in sound stage and imaging. It sounds crisper and well defined. The vocals have also improved. Slight chestiness that i was experiencing with Denon is gone and they are lot more soulful. HOWEVER: Extremely poor design - The touch buttons are really temperamental - sometimes they respond and sometimes they don't. Totally unpredictable.
Summary: I love it! It is driving my B&W CDM1 SEs to very decent sound levels. I do hear the strain when I want to really blast the Mahler, but that is what I have my primary system for. Great DAC! No problems whatsoever! It is a delight to listen to the warm sound! You may want to consider the Marantz 6005 though, before making a decision.
Summary: While this is a review of the NAD D3020, I am going to go over quite a bit of stuff here for you. First off, the early reviews, and initial responses when the unit first came out. Yes, the remote is black, all black. But actually the functions and use are easy to feel even in the dark. So don't think you need a backlight remote or Universal Remote. You don't. And the buttons on the unit are not that quirky and easy to figure out.
Summary: The sound is good. As to the design, functionality has been sacrificed, apparently, to dubious aesthetic notions. Just two simple features would improve the thing greatly: 1. A power button (instead of a touch sensor) 2. A knob for determining the sound source (instead of another touch sensor, which moves only in one direction, so that you must touch it 1-6 times to get to the option you want) UPDATE: After some further use, I find the design even worse than I had...
Bluetooth from MacBook Pro Retina and iPhone has serious problems: skipping! Waiting to hear from NAD.
31 July 2014
Summary: Plugged it in last night, and have found Bluetooth connectivity to be a major issue. Last night, i was convinced I had received a faulty unit. My iPhone 5 would not stream from spotify (no sound), and streaming through the music app was horribly skippy. Note: Current Iphones do not support aptx! From my macbook pro retina, the sound (streaming via aptx) was also skipping intolerably. Furthermore, sometimes, streaming via bluetooth seems to knock my wifi offline!
Sounds great, but limited power really hampers it's overall effectiveness.

Summary: I had read some really glowing reviews of the NAD D 3020, and went down to my local boutique audio shop to give it a test drive. They had the 3020 in a smaller room with bookshelf speakers and smaller towers. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the NAD D 3020 drove various speakers; E.G. PSB imagine mini, B&W CM1's, GoldenEar Aon 2/3 and Triton 7's, etc.
