Summary: I was looking for an integrated amp that had a phono input as well as the usual digital inputs. I have owned this stereo for a little over a year now and couldn't be happier with it's performance. I have it driving a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 10.2 speakers with 12 gauge speaker wire. For the phono side of things I have an old Technics SL-Q3 record player with a Grado Gold cartridge. My albums sound great through this set-up.
Summary: I bought this amp almost a year ago from Amazon & I wanted to give it some time before I reviewed it. I needed a stereo (not surround sound) amp with certain features & this serves all my needs. I also needed an amp that could fit in to a limited shelf space. Most of the amps made now are very big. It has a phono input & being that I have a large record collection, this was important.
Summary: I wanted an integrated amp that had a phono stage, a remote, and consumed less power than the power amp I was using with my PC. All of these were met at a reasonable price with the PM5004. This amp has enough power output to drive my NHT 2.5i speakers rated at 6 ohms and 86db to satisfyingly loud levels in the small studio apartment I live in.
Summary: this is the first speaker amplifier I bought in years, and I have been very happy with my purchase. I use it to drive a pair of Wharfedale Diamond speakers, and use as input (mainly) a Meier Audio StageDAC. I am very happy with the clean, lean sound of this system, and natural soundstage: excellent for listening to movie dialog, and for classical/acoustic music.
Summary: This is a well put together, great sounding amp, the only omission in my opinion is no dedicated subwoofer output. I have been using this unit for a few months driving a high end set of book shelf speakers and have been blown away by the clarity this amp provides.
Summary: We bought a turntable and some pretty decent speakers. We wanted an amp with a phono imput because we didn't want to buy an extra piece of equipment just to hook up the turntable. Marantz has a good reputation, so I thought I'd try it. I grew up with an amazing stereo system (old tube amp, etc). This amp meets the high bar of my expectations. Really, really pleased with this purchase.
Summary: I got this as a 2 channel dedicated music setup with PSB mid level bookshelf speakers, audioquest wires, and a streamer DAC to play pandora one (upgraded) through my computer. I compared this with my 10 year old NAD C340 2 channel 40wattx2 intergrated amp. The marantz was more detailed in the high range and had a more focused midrange soundstage than the NAD, but the NAD was smoother/ warmer (as NAD tends to do) in all ranges with more low end strength.
On paper there's not that much separating with newer model Pm6005

Summary: I not sure paying nearly twice as much for the Pm6005 is worth it i think personaly i can live without the digital out every thing else seems similar i know this has 10 w less power than the Pm6005 but the same band width and as i will be using Q a 2020i i think this would be more than enough to power them any other reasons why not to purchase this over the Pm6005 please let me know ?
Summary: Does what it says in the specification at a reasonable price. It is the heart of the audio part of my home computer set up, enabling me to drive some decent bookshelf speakers, and to feed phono output into the pc for digitising vinyl.
