Summary: Solid performing amplifier. I wasn't blown away with it's output, but it ably handled all types of recording quality. It took poorly recorded music and made it sound acceptable. It didn't diminish high-quality recorded music. However, it didn't enrich it either.
Summary: I have read many of this product reviews; it motivates me to add it to improve my already great sound system. I expect this product will make my sound system to ultimate sound stage. But a little disappointed, after I hook up to my SR7005 receiver, I found no different sound at all. I still don't believe myself and I try to check around from speaker connections and to go through all over again using remote control to check all features on the screen to make sure every...
Summary: I bought this amplifier to power a modest 5.1-channel home theater system that is still a work in progress. The MM7055 5-channel amplifier is paired with the Marantz AV7005 preamplifier (now out of production and replaced by the AV7701), Klipsch Heresy III speakers and a Klipsch SW-110 subwoofer. This Marantz amplifier produces clean and powerful sound that fills my living room effortlessly.
Excerpt: THE POWER AN SOUND THIS POWER AMP DELIVERS WILL AMAZE YOU . RUNNING 4 oms SPEAKERS ALL DAY LONG NO OVER HEATING AT ALL.GREAT. MARANTZ KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.GREAT AMP AT A GREAT PRCE SPEACIAL TOO VANNS AWESOME DEAL WILL SHOP AGAIN.
Summary: Got this with the 7701, upgrading from a receiver with less power. (Lucked out and got both at open box price.) The amp does seem to match its rated 5 channel power, many amps I've seen or tried recently appear to suffer from inflated power ratings, but not this one. My speakers are pretty efficient, so this drives them to sufficiently brain-rattling volumes for space opera videos, or for listening to music.
Pros: Good price, honest power, good sound quality five channels
Summary: This amp was added between our Marantz SR7005 A/V rcvr and our Polk RTi, CSi, and F/Xi speakers. The home theater was already great, but when we added this amp, it got even better. We had enough power without the amp, but the increased headroom and range does improve the sound in our room. We don't have close neighbors and don't use dynamic volume or dynamic EQ, so we can really enjoy this thing. Holy Hi-Fi, Batman!
Pros: Matches our other Marantz components. Remote control from the receiver. Outstanding value for the performance increase of our system.
Summary: I am using the mm7055 to power a second zone in my home, it is a very strong amp that really fills out the space nicely. The Marantz sound is inpecable. I could not be happier with the investment.
Summary: Movies' biggest challenge for sound systems seems to be their wide dynamic range. I have owned 75W/ch & 100W/ch systems, and with each step up have found the movie watching experience to be transformed. But no previous systems prepared me for this upgrade. I am a fan of Marantz sound, a slightly warm but very precise and musical output. Marantz somehow manages the precision of digital components without the tiring, metallic effects of many other amps.
Pros: Relaxed, plentiful power reserves. Clean but non-metallic sound. Cool look. DLR and RCA connections.
Summary: I use my home theater system every day, so I feel like I get more bang per buck out of the money I spend on it than with other things I spend money on. I replaced a 600 series Onkyo a/v receiver with this Marantz MM7055 amplifier and the Marantz SR7005 preamp. I'm not an audiophile, but one thing I've learned over the years is that watts matter when powering speakers.
