The most bang for the buck

shellbroz, Ebay

  • Summary: I have two of these amps and they perform flawlessly. I use these bridged at 4 ohms to drive two 1000 watt 18 inch subs, each. I like that you can program, from the back panel, the filters, output controls and tailor how these perform under different circumstances. I have always used Peavey amps in the past and they are bulletproof. I hope that these Behringer amps hold up as well. Two years and counting with no problems.

Underpowered for Buttkicker

wafermaker, B&H Photo
5 April 2012
  • Excerpt: It is frustrating to see a breaker on an amp which indicates the maximum power draw is less than 1800W, yet the manufacturer advertises 4 ohms bridged load at 2400W RMS. Simple thermodynamics will tell you this amp must be well under 1000W. I used it to attempt to drive one and then two buttkickers, with very poor results. I didn't have balanced inputs, but I did follow wiring directions for unbalanced input.
  • Pros: Easy To Use
  • Cons: Weak

You can always turn it down!

  • Excerpt: I already own two EP2500's, so it was no surprise that the EP4000 was all of that and more. I run a couple of Peavey 18" bass bins wired in series with the amp in bridged mono mode. Built like a tank, quiet, with plenty of power and headroom to spare. This was a perfect addition to my rig. I would also like to note that they changed the color from the 2500's, the new case is a dark charcoal gray, not black like the originals.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Excellent construction, Excellent Sound, Great Value, Powerful

Awesome power for the money

The Chief, B&H Photo
26 December 2010
  • Excerpt: I was surprised by the performance and quality of the EP 4000. I have used Crowns, QSC, and Peavey in the past. I purchased this for under $400 and was skeptical. The reviews for the EP4000 were all positive, but I was determined not to be swayed by the reviews. The amp weighs over 50lbs, that means that it is made for heavy duty use. When I powered it up, it was quiet -no humming- and provided ample power for the 15in JBL cabinets and crystal clear.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Good Warmth, Powerful

Wow Behringer EP 4000 is great

The Chief, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I have used a variety of amps-Crown,QSC, and Peavey-over the years, and I am impressed with punch the EP 4000 delivers for the money. It is quiet and the sound is clear. It weighs over 50lbs, but it is heavy duty and reliable. Put it through the test for two weeks straight and it has not failed. I will be buying another EP 4000 soon.

Quit giving Behringer gear crap!

Mike Sullivan, music123
29 July 2010
  • Summary: I bought one of these to compliment my already year-old EP2500 on a new two-way setup I bought (all from Music123), and so far I can tell you it's worth the money! I have this running parallel stereo to a set of Yamaha SW118's with no problems at all. I don'tk now if it's the fact that I have a 2ch compressor on the mains thatk eeps it down, but the system cranks loud and doesn't clip whatsoever, while still providing plenty of power.
