Summary: i like the ASTRO MIXAMP. you can hear enemy foot steps in cod. and if your a youtuber you can record your voice to the computer with a autio software to put with your video recording. you can plug a cable in to the stream jack port on the front to the pc. you might have to use a ground loop adapter to cancel out the static sound.
Summary: Bought it to be able to play games and movies on my PS3 without disturbing wife and kid. It does a pretty good job in rendering the sound stage. I use it with a JVC HARX900. It is not like a real DD5.1 setup but it does enhance the listening experience. Is it really that good? In my experience, it really depends on how good the sound source is and how wide you like the sound stage.
Summary: This really is a silly and unnecessary product, unless you are a console gamer that requires the use of headphones. It's well made, and the sound quality is decent. I would have preferred the option to plug it up to PC and program in a custom equalizer, rather than having the four preset options that don't really fit anywhere.
Summary: So I am a long time user of Tritton AXPRO headphones. I decided to pick up a set of Sennheiser G4me One headphones and pair it with this mixamp as many reviews recommend. I think the headphones sound great. I think the directional audio either isnt up to par with the Tritton AXPRO, or after 3 weeks I am still not used to it completely. I like the preset ability, but cant help but think if I should order new AXPRO headphones to compare them.
Summary: I've owned an old astro mix amp for over 5 years. I connect it to my computer and xbox. Decided to up grade to the new model because I broke my old one by taking it apart. A big difference is the optical jack. My cable does not fit it anymore, but it comes with a decent quality one. 4 star because I cant use my long cord I specifically bought for the mix amp. One thing I like was the mic cord no longer needs a box. A regular 2.5 to 2.5 works good.
Summary: Paired with xbox one and Bose QC15's... I cant hear anything other than everything within the game. Titanfall and Call of Duty: Ghosts are like a new experience as you can hear the details (footsteps, reloads, etc.). I was skeptical on how well the surround is, while its not like the surround you will find in any imax theater, it works and works well for gaming.
