Summary: This is my second Rowenta iron. I do not think I will purchase any more. When it works it does a wonderful job. But, about 6 months into ownership it stops emitting steam. You have to shake it, unplug it and then it will start up again. Now, today it lights up but no heat. These use to be quality products, but something has changed in the design or ownership and they are sub par.
Avoid Rowenta products which malfuction before warranty is up.

Summary: The Rowenta product I bought (DX 1700 - 1600 Watt Effective Iron), worked for the first nine months after purchase, and then did NOT function. When notified of my problem, the company sent a boilerplate letter, and did NOT send a replacement iron. I would NEVER buy a Rowenta product again. I replaced this iron with a Black & Decker iron, which I am very happy with.
Summary: Our previous iron was spitting and leaking. Our daughter has a Rowenta and highly recommended that we try one. So we now are the proud owners of a Rowenta which is definitely a cut above any other irons that we've used in the past. This iron heats up quickly, steams evenly, has an automatic turnoff feature if you happen to leave it on by mistake. This is an excellent product.
Summary: I used this iron at my parents house while visiting and fell in love with it. We had been using the typical cheap iron and I had no idea there was a difference. The wrinkles just melt away, even on knits. This was much less than I expected to pay as well! Would definitely buy again.
Summary: I really love this iron although when I got it the box says DX1700 but the iron say DX1600. I would have sent it back except I was desperate as my old Rowenta had gone to the iron heaven after 8 years of hard labor. I really hope this iron lasts as long as I have had more irons over my 48 years of marriage till I got my first Rowenta. They are great irons.
