Summary: The reason I got this was because it looked like a good quality steam iron with a retractable power cord. I wasn't disappointed I- don't think you would be either if you buy this... Especially at the price.
Supreme Hardware substituted product with a lesser model I didn't order!

Summary: I ordered the DX1900 Rowenta iron and Supreme Hardware sent me a totally different iron in a different color. I am very disappointed with Supreme Hardware and would not buy another product from them. Intentionally substituting products as if a customer wouldn't notice is not something a reputable vendor would do.
Summary: I have had my DX1900 for 10 years. I love it. Even though I broke the retractable compartment by dropping it, it still works great. I have not had any of the problems other reviewers have described with mine the whole time I have had it. It was worth the extra cost.
Summary: I did not buy on Amazon, but have had this model iron for at least three years and it is the best iron I have ever had. I hate to iron, so I don't use mine constantly, but when I do I have so much ironing it still gets quite a bit of usage at that time. I like the convenience of the retractable cord. It glides smoothly across fabric and is not too light or too heavy for my needs.
Summary: this is my 2nd Rowenta DX1900 iron - 1st was a xmas gift a long time ago - and it started leaking - ordered a new one just because I like it so much - especially the auto off!!!! 1st one might have started leaking because I never slid the lever over 2 dry when I filled it so making sure I do this time - I sew in the winter months constantly so use it ALL THE TIME then! Highly recommend this one!
Summary: I am on my second NEW Rowenta and neither of them has worked -- they keep shutting off so I have to unplug it and plug it back in, then it will stay on for between 10 seconds and maybe 30 seconds. So I have to make a THIRD trip back to the store? I contacted Rowenta and after SIX WEEKS OF BACK AND FORTH, they sent me a rebate voucher for $10-$15 depending on how much I spend on a new Rowenta iron. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No way anyone should buy this brand!
It's good, and I'm surprised at the bad reviews...

Summary: I've had a good experience with this iron. Not only has it lasted years, we dropped it not once but twice so that part of the outside piece which holds the cord broke off. And it it's still ironing well and steaming up. We're buying another one!
Summary: Did not purchase on Amazon--have been very disappointed--no way on earth to keep it hot----may get hot for one minute--then if you set it down to reposition whatever is being ironed---it turns off and cools so rapidly you won't believe your eyes. Getting it back on takes all sorts of manuevers. JUNK!
Summary: I am on my second Rowenta Iron. This one stopped working after 5 months. The light does not go on and the sole plate does not heat up. The company will not replace the iron. I have to ship it to them and the whole process can take six weeks, so I have to buy another iron in the meantime. Irons should last longer that five months and if they are broken they should issue immediate credit for a new iron and not make you wait. Mine was made in China as well.
