Summary: This is the most awesome iron I have ever owned! I absolutely am in love with it! I admit that I held off ordering it because I always hesitate when there are no reviews on an item. That, plus the price---$140.00. I've never owned an iron that expensive but have always bought Rowenta irons. My previous iron is the Rowenta "Professional Luxe" and I have had it for at least 8 or 9 years; possibly more than that.
Summary: After reading many of the reviews I contemplated why the Rowenta DW8080 does not get more negative reviews or more positive ones. How can the manufacturing process hit and miss so randomly. I went ahead and purchased the Rowenta DW8080 after I sadly dropped and broke the Rowenta that I had for 20 years. The price point on this iron is phenomenal right now.
Summary: I'm a single 54 year old man who presses his own clothes. This is the best iron I have ever purchased. It's been 4 months and the iron works great. Nice size cord, great steam and solid construction. This iron was manufactured in Germany. I had a cheaper Rowenta iron made in China( poor quality control) two years ago and it didn't last a year. Stick to the one's made in Germany.
Summary: Our old Rowenta finally went..so we looked at reviews and thought we would purchase this one. It is made in Germany just like our other one that lasted at least 12-13 yrs. Not every Rowenta is made in Germany. It is a little heavier but at least it won't tip over. Just follow directions and it will last. Good steam too.
Summary: I have had three Rowenta pro master DE8080 irons and all of them have the same problem with water leakage. I have requested each time that the company send me a different model and they said they could not do that. I will never buy another Rowenta iron. I paid more than $100.00 for this iron and as a quilter worry every time that I use it on fabric I will get a water stain. Every single time the iron is used I end up with water on the floor.
Summary: I've had several Rowenta irons, and I have loved them all except for one thing: they don't last very long. I've had this iron for barely over a year, and until now it has been great. Now it leaks water from the bottom...it doesn't matter how much or little water is in it, or whether it is warm or cold or on or off. From reading other reviews I see I am not the only one this has happened to, and in fact, this seems to be a common issue.
Summary: I am just so in love with this iron. It is so easy to use. It leaves the clothes nice and pressed. I would definitely recommend this iron to anyone especially those that do not like to iron but HAVE to...haha.
