Good Product. Quality. A little heavy and awkward for lefties.

Summary: I like it. I don't love it. I liked my Shark better. Just my preference. This however is an excellent product. Well made. I sew a lot and my iron is life to my projects. My issues with it are these: it's a little to heavy, it's awkward to handle as I'm left handed, it doesn't seem to steam as well as the product description made it sound, and for as much as this iron costs, it does not come with it's own filler cup like a lot of irons do today. Not a big deal.
Summary: I have had a Rowenta iron for years and it is still in perfect condition. I looked at the Rowenta DW5080 in the store and on line. I could not justify buying a new iron until my granddaughter started sewing and she needed an iron. Perfect excuse to get a new iron. I love it! I love the smaller point for getting into small places and it steams great. It is heaver than my older one, but other than that I like.
Summary: It gave off great steam, so much in fact that I have burnt my fingers many times by having my hand too close. BUT it started to leak lots of water right after plugging it in. Whenever I plugged it in and had it in a n upright position waiting for it to heat up, it seemed OK. The minute I picked it up to use it, water would pour out between the sole plate and the plastic case near the back of the iron.
Summary: I had no idea I was buying the same iron two times in a row! I iron every day because I am a quilter. So I need a durable iron that puts out good steam, and boy does this iron do that! Almost to good. I put this iron through the wringer every day, love that it turns itself off when not used for a period of time as well.
The point of view from someone who knows nothing about irons

Summary: I don't like reviews like the one you're about to read, where the customer complains about everything except the performance of the actual item, but in this case I have to speak up. I purchased this from Amazon -- not from one of it's sellers. Brand new, from Amazon. The first iron was broken (the cover for the water reservoir) and even the iron's box was a little dinged up but no problem, it was replaced immediately.
Summary: This iron is great for touch ups and large ironing jobs. Very easy to use and maintain. It heats quickly, has high steam output, and glides across even shear fabrics. Seams look as though the garment was just picked up from the dry cleaners. Very happy with this purchase. The Rowenta Focus is well worth the expense.
