Summary: Bought this for mom. She loves it. Her requirements as a 75 year old, however, were minimal. It needed to work well and be "light" weight. I don't iron (like whatsoever) so it doesn't really feel lightweight to me, but moms says it feel great to her and that it works great. She presses a lot of cotton-linen and linen fabric for the church and it gets done easily with this item, which is sometime a challenge. She is very pleased with the new purchase.
Summary: So far this iron has lived up to the reviews. It's comfortable to use, easy to fill and heats quickly. The one knock I have is that the cord retactor is a little finicky. Quite often we have to help feed the cord into the base or pull it out and try again.
Summary: Nice iron. Hot, good steam, not too heavy, even with the cord reel. Slight problem is the cord reel base does not fit into our ironing board/iron holder on the wall. Just a little too big for this holder. Nice tip on the end, to work the iron into tight corners and between buttons.
Summary: I bought the rowenta 2090 to replace another faulty iron (DIFFERENT brand) That was also bought from macys. When I took the iron out of the box and turned it so that I could see the surface I noticed a large indentation on the plate along with many scratches and at the bottom where the screws are, there was a jagged crack. What a bummer! I am disappointed with Macy's and the quality of the Rowenta iron.
Summary: After a lifetime of struggling with iron cords, the cord reel is awesome! My criteria for an iron are pretty simple, and this model satisfies all of them. The base is stable, the heat produced is adequate for the task, and filling the water reservoir is not too difficult or messy I think this was a good purchase.
