Summary: This is not your mom's Rowenta. Cheaply constructed, it leaked almost immediately. Auto-turnoff kicked in constantly, whether iron was moving or not. Selection dial made of cheap plastic and settings are not clearly marked. Either got too hot (ruined a shirt ) or too cool. Instruction pamphlet was useless. Very disappointed that the brand that was once highly regarded has fallen so low.
Summary: I bought this iron with high hopes. I read all the instructions, and made sure I had bottled water to fill the reservoir as other commenters had suggested. I tested the steam function, just like the instructions stated and it seemed to work fine. Then I tested the stream function. No go......nothing. But I did notice that it started splattering water almost immediately when I started to iron.
Summary: The Rowenta effective comfort iron is easy to especially only using tap water versus distilled water.. I only used the iron a couple of times. But with summer cottons and linen fabrics, I will be ironing up a storm.
