Summary: I bought this iron to replace another Rowenta iron that leaked. It looks pretty but as a steam iron its function seems to be sub-par. I've had this one just a couple of weeks and it leaks already. Also the steam mechanism only works occasionally, and often manages to leave an iron-shaped pattern of white dots on dark fabrics that have to be buffed out.
Summary: Purchased March 2013 - owned for five months. My wife is quite satisfied with the performance. I am writing to day because the fill cover came off. I am guessing that it was inadvertently pushed back too far thus springing the hinge. The hinge is typical of today's click in place plastic products.
Summary: I've used a few Rowenta models over the years and always prefer them over other brands. Very reliable, well made, and the settings are accurate as to how much steam/heat it outputs. This particular one seems to like to leak a little water more often than it should while doing heavy steaming. Not user error; just happens with this one, but it is on the cheaper end of the model line. Go up another $15-$20 and you don't seem to encounter this issue.
Summary: I have been having terrible leaking problems with this iron every since I received it. All the water just leaks out of the iron on the ironing board and wets up your clothes and makes an awful mess. I should have returned it as soon as I received it. I am wondering if its too late to return it. It was purchased March 2013.
Summary: I am currently employed as a housekeeper. And my duties include ironing. One of my employers had a Rowenta iron and I loved working with it. So when my iron gave up the ghost, I was pleased! I could now buy myself a Rowenta! It is lightweight, fits my hand well and the steam feature is absolutely wonderful. My previous iron would just spit and sputter a little bit of water. The Rowenta actually produces steam.
