Summary: I had an older cordless iron that was wearing out a long while for a good quality replacement. I checked lots of reviews by users & websites that specialize in reviewing consumer products. The cordless models reviewed got lukewarm reviews at best & were way more expensive than this one.
Summary: I really really like this iron. There! How's that?! No, seriously. I honestly can't say enough great things about this iron. I've been using it for nearly 2 months, and with each use, I'm amazed at the portability and the ease of use of this awesome iron! First, it heats very quickly!
Summary: Yes, it is not cheap but so worth it. I love this iron, and I am a person who hates ironing. I needed an iron to iron my work cloths, and cheapo for 20 bucks that somehow was in my possession simply was inadequate in every possible way. However, this iron is worth every penny.
Summary: I have an Nl 1500Z I bought about 1994-1995 and it still works as a Dry Iron !!! (Gasket on Water for Steam leaks and drips 20 years later, no big deal). Simply stated, I like Panasonic and the products they sell us are of a good enough quality to work for 20 Years.
Summary: The first one I bought did not get hot enough and produced very little steam. I exchanged it for another one and this one works much better. My cotton clothing looks good after ironing. It does not get as hot as many irons that are out there.
Good iron, but there are a few things to keep in mind before you buy

Summary: The good: This iron heats up quickly, generates a good amount of steam, is light weight, and cordless! The bad: While cordless, you must keep the base plugged in and very near where you are ironing. Why? Because you may only set the temperature level when the iron is connected to the base.
Summary: So close to an engineering marvel but inconsistent steam performance. Pros - Retractable cord - No cord - Light weight - Ease of use - Glides well - Simple controls - removable water canister - Panasonic quality Cons - Water capacity could be improved - Steam performance suspect the longer it's kept...
Summary: It just doesnt get hot enough... for quilters cotton and forget about home dec... returned. These are being given away free to bloggers to push and create buzz, well, stupid me! I fell for it and its a joke... fine for for cheap poly blouses but not the grind a quilter will put it thru.
Summary: I've used similar irons while staying in hotels in Japan, so I experienced none of the issues mentioned in the more negative feedbacks - steam was abundant, water supply was adequate for ironing several shirts, and heat was very good.
Summary: Not Happy! I have had this iron for less than a year and it just quit!!! Now I cannot return it because it is past the return date. Need a new iron but will NOT be buying another one of these!
