Summary: The only problem I have with the iron is the button to select the heating. It between the steam selection and the handle. If you move your hand to far you will change the temperature of the iron and won't even notice it until it doesn't steam anymore. A bad place to put the button. Otherwise it's light and easy to use, when I some ironing to do.
Summary: There are only two retired people in this household. We do very little ironing. We purchased this iron through Amazon less than one year ago. Yesterday, the iron completely shut down. What a piece of junk!!
Summary: I had one of these several years ago and I loved that it had a nice weight and good steam. It got me through three years of a fashion design master's program and I assumed that since I used it nearly every day and pressed it really hard, it made sense that the handle cracked. I decided to purchase a different brand, but could not find other irons in this same price range than felt heavy enough and got as hot as I needed them to, so I went back to this model.
Summary: I bought a Shark several years ago, before the brand was well-known in the United States, and it gave us good, long service. When it was time to retire it, I didn't consider any other brand. The Shark heats up quickly and the steam is consistent. The option of vertical or horizontal steam is very nice, and this iron WILL NOT LEAK. The water reservoir is easy to fill and the water level is easy to see.
Summary: When the iron was working, it was a great iron. This is my second Shark iron, but they all have the same problem. It worked for a short period of time, then suddenly it no longer worked. No power, nothing. Now it's just a paperweight. I'm giving this iron 1 star because iron technology is not that complex. An iron like this should last at least 2 years. Dependability is a "must have" feature for an iron.
Summary: I had to replace this iron in the first year. Europro sent me a refurb replacement with me paying shipping charges. Now my replacement is broken too. Europro will not replace the new product as it is out of warranty. This iron works well but the quality is very poor.
Summary: We had this iron for less than a year and used it very occasionally. The last time I used it, I set it upright on the ironing board so that I could rearrange my shirt. It began crackling with electricity, and then sizzling, and immediately began smoking something fierce. I immediately unplugged it and said "Thank you God" that I was standing right here instead of doing something else while it warmed up. I'm confident it would have caught fire if left plugged in.
