Summary: Received my Electrolux iron today. it certainly has alot of steam. A good heavy iron. The only thing is you cannot register this online as the Web site doesn't work when you try to register your iron. Hopefully this will be fixed.
Summary: After spending years struggling with a no-frills, hand-me-down, mineral-deposit-plagued Black & Decker 1200W iron (circa 1992) complete with a scratched up, tiny soleplate, I decided to treat myself to a new steam iron. After reading heaps of reviews, I purchased the Electrolux Perfect Glide Iron in August 2012. Compared to my old iron, nearly any product would have been a major upgrade.
Summary: Why is it so difficult to find an iron that works as you would want and expect? I've tried a number of irons to replace a 10+ year old Rowenta - this one was as disappointing as the others It drips water, does not stay hot, and the nanny-state, auto-off "feature" is only annoying - not helpful at all Sadly, this review could apply to the top-of-the-line and mid-range Rowentas as well as this model Iron manufacturers, please stop trying to keep us "safe" - irons by their...
Summary: The plate is large and the tip is pointed enough for ironing details. I like the way it sits for filling. The water seems to last a long time for the steam. My only itsy bitsy complaint is that I cannot read the dial or turn it as easily as my old not as high quality iron. I have to put on my reading glasses to read it. And that is more my age problem than the manufacturer.
Summary: I had a Braun Freestyle with textile protector iron which died after many years of use. I can't seem to find a newer model in 120v so I debated over this iron and the Rowenta. Both were highly rated by Good Housekeepig, but they also have their issues based on the reviews I have read on Amazon. I took the risk of picking Electrolux because there were just too many reviews about the Rowentas leaking. The good...
Summary: Started as a terrific iron. Held its temp, unlike so many other irons, and emitted a ton of steam. Perfect! Then, after a couple of months use, I noticed a burning smell as I was ironing. Thought I had imagined it, then noticed smoking coming from the iron, between the soleplate and body. A LOT of smoke. Thinking the iron was about to ignite, I quickly unplugged it and took it outside.
Summary: I have been using this iron for a couple of months with good results. Initially it felt heavy, but now I do not notice the weight. I use it for sewing as well as ironing clothes. It has not leaked once and the ironing surface has remained clean! The dial for setting the temperature is under the handle and a little hard to see, otherwise a good solid product.
Summary: I got this iron because I have to iron a lot of dress shirts. And this is what I have to say to it. First it is extremely heavy, you can skip your workout session after ironing three or four shirts. It doesn’t glide as easy as they claim and, the steam is not as high as I expected. You have to watch the cord, because it touches the sole easily. Plus of the position where the cord is located at, it always rubs your arm.
