Summary: I've had this iron only three months and will be replacing it. Even if you're buying on a budget, this one is wrong, wrong, wrong. The plate on the bottom looks the part of a nonstick iron, but it scorched in the first use and intermittently since. I'm forever trying to get burned bits of fiber off the bottom before they contaminate the next item.
This was the end of the line for ANY B&D product with me!

Summary: I’ve had increasingly bad luck with Black & Decker products in recent years, even though I’ve owned many throughout the years. Their small appliances have increasingly grown worse in quality. I had a cheap B&D I iron I got in college many MANY years ago that lasted well over a decade and most of their small appliances have done well until recent years.
Waste of money! Terrible quality soleplate, leaks water... awful.

Summary: By far the worst iron I've ever had. 7 months of infrequent use, and the soleplate started to "peel" thus creating a discoloration on my clothes. Finally the last time I used it, the green light came on right away after plugging it in - ?? It never heated up. A total waste of money. Spend the extra $10-15-20 to get a better quality iron.
Summary: We've had this iron perhaps a year with VERY limited use and it has stopped working. The green light comes on, but it doesn't heat up. I've scoured the internet looking for a fix and have come across volumes of other consumers who have had this same issue. It's no surprise to see the negative reviews here on Amazon as well....spend the $ to get a quality product!
Summary: Bought this iron at Kohls or Target about 6 months ago. It has never ever worked correctly. It turns off and on randomly, gets hotter than the setting randomly, sticks to everything and its totally annoying. Now it has quit working completely. Its demon possessed. I sent an email to their customer service department. We will see what they do.
Summary: This has by far been the worst purchase I could have made. Apart from other issues that users have complained about, my iron regularly accumulates black sticky stuff. I've tried scraping it off, but there it is back again every time. Now a good white shirt is RUINED because it got stuck on my cuff !!! I hate this iron so much that I won't even donate it / give it away for free.
Summary: Black & Decker ICR505 First Impressions Cord-Reel Iron with Nonstick Soleplate This is NOT a Non-Stick soleplate iron. When I iron I have to hang onto the clothes. To keep the iron from catching and then I inadertantly form/iron a crease (wrong spot) that I have to spray and iron out the crease I created (Arghhhh). This is so frustrating I unplugged it and threw it outside.
