Summary: The iron started out strong. It heated up quickly and evenly. I nice smooth touch on the clothing. Then i came home after a day at work. It was still on from the morning. The auto shutoff did not engage. Nothing burned in the room, but it smelled like a the electronics were fried. I unplugged it and left if for the night. I tried to use it in the morning and it did not work. Stay away... It's dangerous...

Summary: Bought this in Feb only used it lightly. At first I was happy with how it was working. Then about a week ago I forgot to unplug the iron before I left for work. That evening the iron turned itself back on & proceeded to give off a burnt plastic wire smell. I was in the back of my apartment when i realized what was happening. I quickly unplugged it let it cool off. I refuse to plug it back in for any reason.
Summary: At first, the unit worked very well and I loved it. The ironing results were great. But less than 2 months after I bought it, it just stopped working. It wouldn't heat up, and the digital display on it had the "In Standby" symbol which you could not get rid of. I called Black and Decker customer support, and they said they would exchange it under warranty, but I had to wait 4-6 weeks before it could ship because it was on backorder. Way more trouble than it was worth.
Summary: I bought this iron around d this time last year. It worked pretty well as far as the iron in and steaming. I don't use it a whole lot, would say a couple times per week at most. Within a few months I noticed it was leaking water. Some irons do that when you first plug them in from what I have seen. But, this was leaking from where the power cord goes into the iron. I'm pretty handy so I decided I was going to take it apart and find the problem.
Summary: I read reviews of this product, and thought it would be the best fit for our family. After four months, however, it completely stopped working...it would not turn on at all. Unfortunately, it is too late to return it to Amazon and I now have to buy another iron to replace it.
Summary: The Black & Decker D6000 has all the whistles and bells when it comes to having the right tool for the ironing. Just the right weight, not too heavy, but enough to get the wrinkles out. Plenty of steam at all levels and a feature to self clean when necessary. My wife would have no other brand.
