so far, so good

tex, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Only had the scope for about a week, but so far am extremely pleased. I took it out to the range last weekend, and had no problem seeing .30 cal bullet holes in targets at 100 yards on shoot-n-c targets. Haven't tried further ranges but I think 200 yards would be fine too. The tripod is definitely shaky, and I couldn't touch the scope while looking at 100 yards or it would bounce all over the place. Happy with the scope overall though.

DEMO Yukon 21031K product review

Roy J. Dossat Jr., opticsplanet.com
15 July 2013
  • Summary: Scope met all my expectations, Better than any I have used so for. I was able see 32cal holes at 100yds in rainy low light conditions. I did not have any problem using the tripod that came with package.

Good enough for me

Stingray, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I have owned this for a couple of weeks now, but have not had it out in the field. In reading previous reviews I am not sure where one thought this was awkward to use. Yes, to go from 6x25 to 25x100 you need to turn a knob, but once the target is sighted it is relatively easy to zoom in (scope on a sturdy tripod). Never had experience with expensive scopes, but can see the clouds and moons of Jupiter, so the optics seem good enough for the price.
  • Pros: Bright Eyepiece, Sensitivity Controls, Strong Magnification

Great Product, Great Price

  • Excerpt: Great scope for the price, plenty on the market and alot more expensve with less magnification . Researched on the net prior to purchasing and found the features to be as advertised. Great scope for long range bird or wildlife watching as well as closer viewing. Would recommed this to the novice and experience user requiring a quality scope at execeptional value.

better than expected

  • Excerpt: Very lightweight and easy to use. Does exactly what I want it to do and more. Going to Africa in October. Been there many times but long distances in some of the parks were a always a problem, even with high power lenses.
  • Pros: Bright Eyepiece, Sensitivity Controls, Strong Magnification

Good on low power

Radioman_NYC, B&H Photo
13 April 2011
  • Excerpt: This was used to spot buildings from 3-6 miles apart for microwave links. Nice and clear at the low power setting, but blurry at the high setting making it difficult to confirm sightings. Also had a problem with the large, screw on lens cap, tough to put on properly and remove.
  • Pros: Clear low power, Lightweight
  • Cons: Blurry high power, Flimsy tripod setup, Tricky lens cap

Yukon 6-100x100 spotting scope

Anthony Law, opticsplanet.com
25 December 2010
  • Summary: Overall a great scope! Very clear optics. You will need a better tripod as the one that it comes with isn't sturdy enough for higher magnification. Also, the instructions say not to use it in direct sunlight so it will have to be covered with a towel or used inside the carrying case to protect it from the sun...I find this very odd for what is described as a rugged scope, but all the pros outweigh the minor cons.
  • Pros: easy to use, clear optics, lightweight, extreme magnification
  • Cons: tripod not stable enough for high magnification, focus control a little coarse for high magnifications

largely disapointing

dnepro-mike, Ebay
23 September 2010
  • Summary: despite having whopping 100mm objective lens and enormous 100x zoom this scope is rather average performer. I purchased it to be able to view .30cal holes @ 300yards. I thought 100mm will surly give me a great image quality and resolution. it quickly became apparent that 100x zoom is more of a myth than reality. while you can zoom-in to a 100x image quality at this setting suffers to the point that i end up turning it down back to about 60-65x.
