Summary: Useless for general audio. In 2-speaker mode (you know...the norm), the sound crackles and buzzes ALL the time. I switch it to 5.1 or 7.1...works cleanly. So unless you have a full surround-sound setup, it won't help much.
Cons: The drivers are clunky at best. First few tries, they usually say the hardware doesn't exist. After a reboot (2 in my case) suddenly they'll work.
Cons: Card gives off LOUD static when used for a single pair of speakers. If you tell it to use surround-sound, it works great...only I don't have surround-sound. In addition, the drivers on the CD DO NOT WORK on Windows7. They say they do, but then can't find the hardware. Downloaded newest drivers, same issue. This is the worst piece of hardware I've ever bought. No indication it's a failed card...it just has lousy drivers that won't work on Win7.
Pros: I am a software developer and am using a Dell T-100 server as a development workstation. I needed a sound card that would fit into a PCIe-x1 slot and I did not want to spend a fortune. The UGT-S110 was just the ticket. I am not an audiophile but I did need to be able to listen to swf movies I was developing and deploying to multimedia web sites. Card works beyond expectations and I have surround sound to boot!
Cons: Installing on XP the driver install from the CD it gave me a false error that no card was installed. After reboot though it all worked fine.
