Great device!

Alexander H., Newegg
  • Summary: In order to get it to work with your VM you must use either the vSphere local client or the web client. If you RDP to it, it will just pick it up as a generic device.
  • Pros: Fantastic sounds card! Great price and lots of options! I am using it with ESXi5.5 in a PowerEdge R710 to pass audio from my weather radios and police/EMS scanners to my audio streaming server.
  • Cons: None at the moment

EXTERNAL SOUND CARD

RICHARD F., Newegg
  • Pros: Arrived on time, installed easily, worked the first time even without loading the driver. Loaded the driver and I think it sounds even better. Solved a problem for me without having to go inside and install something on the motherboard. That was a problem because it is hard to find a sound board ...

Does not support 7.1 output on Windows 8.1

Amazon Customer, Amazon
7 March 2015
  • Summary: Apparently supports 7.1 audio on every semi-recent Windows OS (even 2000) EXCEPT 8.1. Latest driver on their web page has a note indicating only 2.1 audio is supported on Windows 8.1--and I can't imagine anyone needing to buy an external device for stereo, given pretty much every motherboard these...

Works Great

Michael W., Newegg
27 January 2015
  • Summary: If you have newer stereo equipment with spidf those in and out those are on the back so it might look better sitting on a desk.
  • Pros: Works well with Windows 8.1 and surround speakers, Mine are 5.1. The default drivers provided by windows operate without trouble, try it out before using the provided CD. The power light is not obtrusive when watching a movie in the dark. Volume control and mute buttons work too.
  • Cons: Small form factor means the USB input is on the back and the stereo jacks on the front. That means it doesn't look very pretty sitting on your desktop. My old phillips psc805 aurilium was bigger but looked and functioned better as a desktop audio controller.

Perfect to connect Bose QuietComfort 25 to a stubborn desktop PC

Ellis, Amazon
4 January 2015
  • Summary: This unit is the final solution for anyone whose PC audio hardware won't get along with a "Made for iPhone" headset. In the past few weeks I've gone through a series of 3.5mm TRRS to 2x3.5mm TRS splitter cables trying to get a Bose QuietComfort 25 to work for PC gaming voice chat.

ES, Amazon
28 September 2014

Perfect

mike d, Amazon
15 May 2014
  • Summary: Works as described I have a TON of music and this sends my audio out to my Pioneer SC-1222 . I tried a dvd-a with DTS and my receiver was able to use all channels. 2 channel via optical was also cleaner.
