Absolutely amazing! This interface can hold it's own in any pro studio.

Summary: I love this thing. It sounds absolutely gorgeous. The mic pre's are very quiet with plenty of head room. As a stand alone mixer, the Profire shines. Phantom power and pads on all 8 analog inputs are a nice feature. The integrated direct inputs for instruments on channels 1 & 2 are so convenient. Connectivity is sweet. My primary purpose for purchasing this unit was as a firewire interface.
Great product! Sounds great, chains two units easily and a terrific value.

Summary: The ProFire 2626 is one of the best-sounding and easiest to use FireWire (IEEE 1394) interfaces around. The 8 channels of mic preamp sound great, and the ability to slave another unit via the ADAT bus makes 16 channels of analog almost too easy. I have two in my project studio recording rack. Why mix inputs down in an analog mixer when you can have each input have its own track for less money than a mixer?
Summary: Initially its got great built in pre's but obviously I will be getting separate pre's (eg Golden Age Project Pre-73) , the layout is practical and very simple to use and set up. Easy on the eyes and very sleek. Its got pretty much everything you need to start recording in high quality!
Summary: I primarily use this for recording drums, and with 8 analog xlr inputs, you can really get a solid recording of the kit. The ease of use of this unit is amazing. I run to my Macbook Pro via firewire port (I have a 400 to 800 cable). I haven't had any problems connecting or anything. It works so smoothly. I definitely recommend this piece of equipment for anyone who wants a great quality for a very moderate price!
Summary: Aside from having to buy a new firewire card...TI chipset, this was the most painless unit to work with. coming from a firestudio project which was fine as well, this is a welcome replacement.....cant go wrong.
