Amazing product. M-Audio's USB 2.0 interface works' amazing!

  • Summary: This is the best midi port ever! I love the 4 XLR inputs in the front. 2 1/4 inch inputs in the front and I love the multi-out, wish it was xlr out, but nothing is ever perfect. I have 1/4" to XLR for my mackie monitors and they sound great! I also love how you can route a single channel out to another port sionce there are 8 1/4" out, it's easy to re-route to your amp!

Sorely Disappointed, Hoping for Sweet Redemption!

jesjontin, Ebay
14 February 2012
  • Summary: Generally I am unhappy with this purchase for several reasons: 1. Of the 4 input channels, only 2 of them work. 2. The 2 channels that do work, do so only intermittently. More than half the time the input signal is distorted. This could be due to a multitude of reasons- it's a troubleshooting nightmare. 3. I am unable to return this M-Audio product to the seller because of his short(7-days)timeframe in which to do so.

perfect for the small home studio.

  • Summary: I use win 7 64bit and it's working great so far. mine came with a damaged input but i bought it used so it's not the manufacture fault. the control panel is a great addition and gives you more control over the device than the fast track pro. i was looking for an audio interface with multiple inputs and this does the job great. i'm not an expert on pre-amps but the fast track ultra sounds great and a major update from the fast track pro.

Great basic USB interface.

  • Summary: Great basic USB interface with my old ACID Pro 5.0 program. Simple and intuitive, I was up and running after only reading the installation guide. The Pro Tools look interesting, but I have not done more than access the program. Will need to read the directions on that. I mainly got this to record into ACID Pro. I also use a stand alone 8 Channel (Boss BR-900CD) for less involved recording.

Usable, not super impressive, but does the job

  • Summary: Not a bad interface, pretty basic. Reduces latency a lot. It would be nice if it had multiple channel outputs, but it is the low end model, so I guess it does the job for a low price.

Sounds great, but the preamps are low

snakeninja81, Ebay
31 March 2011
  • Summary: Had to turn the gain almost all the way up in order to power my m-audio solaris mic. If i turn the gain all the way up, the vocals are hot and peak out, but about 85% is about as high as I can go. At 85% the vocals are not distorted and are very clear, just a little low volume wise. I'll take that any day over distorted hot vocals. I can always turn the vocals up in the program i'm using.
