Very good card but stick with the original software

Summary: In 2010 I bought this card to replace an ASUS Xonar that was not working too well in a Lenovo quadcore desktop when hooked to an Onkyo amp via SPDIF. It sounded much much better than the Xonar, which had deteriorated, I think because a chip had degraded.
Summary: This review will save your sound and may even save your life. Installing a sound card isn't as simple as you might think. Make sure when installing this card that you disable the onboard sound card in the BIOS first or it may interfere with the Creative card by creating a steady low level static...
Summary: I am definitely not technically competent to review this product. I don't know enough about soundcards, and I don't use most of the features. Here is how I use it: I plugged it into my PC, and I connect my speakers to it. That's about it.
Pros: The quality on these is pretty good. These are paired with my klipsch promedia 2.1. If you buy this card do not use the drivers from creative but the ones from PAX. Just look up paxyoursoundout on google, go to the website and then find your set of drivers. If you use the PAX drivers this card so...

Summary: xylo is obviously way below the tech level he listed himself as being. I have been running this card for 6 months now and it works GREAT!! Never had a problem with it!! Oh yeah, and as far as xylo saying W7 support is a joke.... Well, i am running it on W7 64bit and this card works PERFECTLY!!!
Pros: I would buy another one any day, any time!! See my previous Review.
Summary: I am not sure what other posters are talking about, This card has never given me one single problem since it was installed!! I have used Creative sound cards exclusively for years and years!! I'd dare say 10 years!! And they have all worked great for me!!
Pros: Works great and sounds great!! I have been using this card in my system for 5 months and it has always performed flawlessly with music, movie's and GAMES!!!
Summary: Also works in Linux, you will need a modern kernel, (Latest 2.6.32 or later should do) and I have to say that I haven't done any gaming under Linux yet. It works fine for video playback with 5.1 though.
Pros: This is the first EAX gaming card supporting more than 4 speakers I've had that actually delivers on the 5.1/7.1 promise that most cards make, and none deliver. Upgraded from a Live 5.1, and I can tell you flat out that the 5.1 failed to deliver 5.1 speaker support on the center channel, it almos...
Cons: Thus far, no problems. It works, and it plays audio well. I haven't set it up for midi playback (SoundFont) in older games, but we'll see. If this is anything like my old live 5.1 and prior lives, I'll use it for a long time. Especially since unlike the Live 5.1 xgamer, this thing actually works ...
