Summary: I just installed this card yesterday in my HP elite e9250t desktop. I disabled audio in the bios first. I had to move my tuner card next to the power supply first to make room for this card as it is thick. I was hoping that it would connect my front panel for headphones but was dissappointed to find it will not do this. I use this card as an optical out to a yamaha receiver. I did not use the installation cd at all.
Summary: IT was okay! If it wasn't purchased on sale I may not have purchased. It is quirky and I have installed dozens of sound boards. The Sound is minimally better than the Integrated Realtek. It's okay but not worth the regular price and all the hype.
Summary: Hello, I purchased this Sound Card because my previous 1st Gen PCI X-FI was causing my 64bit Windows 7 system to randomly BSOD. Caused data corruption and was just really acting up. After that I ripped the card out and went with on-board audio. My system was more stable than it ever had been, of course I always ran with the old X-Fi card. The latest Gen. PCI-e X-Fi is a good refresh of the original.
Summary: It producces excellent sound quality. But sometimes, it makes a little bit noise when I operaing computer for a few hours. Every that time, I should reboot my computer. I'm not sure that the reason is due to the original sound card problem or unobsevable damage in the sound card. When I got the sound card, it looked a used, of course. Anyway, I still enjoy the excellent sound except for the unexpected noise ocassionally.
The only Creative product that I hardly have trouble with!

Summary: It is no secret I am not a huge fan of Creative Labs, but I needed something better than my on-board P6T Deluxe motherboard audio. I have a pretty nice setup (Core i7 920 @4 Ghz, 2x 4870 in CrossfireX, 6 MB OCZ Platinum Memory), I installed this card, installed the drivers, and it has worked well (for the most part)ever since.
Summary: Superb Sound ! Worked great with Vista SP1. Installed easy. But Creative has lost me as a customer due to the activation required after installing sound card, and no MP3 recording support, only WMA out of the box. Come On Creative $9.99 for an MP3 encoder download (Creative MP3 Audio Pack)to rip mp3's. Would have given 4 stars but Creative has gotten greedy.
