  • Summary: The question I hear over and over when discussing this card with friends is this: “Why bother with a sound card at all? Isn’t the motherboard’s sound good enough these days?” Indeed, if you’re not terribly picky about sound quality, you probably won’t notice the difference. To those with a discerning ear, however, the Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro is certainly worth paying attention to.

  • Excerpt: If you read our original review of the X-Fi way back in November 2005, you already know about this card. Back then, Creative packaged this exact same card with a drive bay and remote and charged an impossible to justify $280 for the X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS soundcard. We ended up recommending its cheaper sibling, the X-Fi XtremeMusic instead.
  • Pros: DSP gives it a performance edge.
  • Cons: Pointless X-RAM.
